1 . Wash our hands. This keeps the condition of the metal plate on the keys new. Do not use metal cleaner unless it is made for plated metals.
.2. Rinse your mouth out 2 times with water so you can get all food and sugar out of your mouth before you blow into the instrument. This stops the instrument from smelling. What is in your mouth goes into the instrument.
3. You and your instructor should be the only people playing your instrument. Your spit is in the instrument and others who might be sick could pass it to you. The more people that handle the instrument, the better chance it might be bent, broken or dropped.
4. To avoid repairs, have your instructor show you how to put your instrument together and take it apart. The lid of the case should close completely without force if the instrument is in correctly. When you close the lid always get in the habit of closing at least one latch. This will hopefully help you avoid having the instrument fall out as you are picking it up.
When the instrument falls out it will brake.
5. We do have repair personal if something should go wrong. If any part of the instrument does not come apart, most times there is no charge to help you.
6. Learning a new language can be fun if you can relate it to your life. Along with the reading your instructor will give, have fun playing along with the music you listen to the most. Use your ears.
7. All instruments need to be cleaned throughout the course of the year, and daily use.
Please inquire about such care at the music store.
8. If you use good hygiene and clean your instrument on a regular basis you will enjoy this great experience.
Have Fun
We will help you relocate, or change your unwanted instruments to cash. Hampton Music and Arts work on 20% of the sale of the instrument. In order to sell your instrument in the store, it must be made to play and be tuned. Any work done on the instrument, with your approval, will be added to the selling price. If the instrument were not sold the owner of the instrument would pay that fee. It could also be sold just as an ornament to display if it is not possible to be made right.
We appraise the value of instruments for insurance or your own curiosity. If you have any question about Consignments Contact Hampton Music & Arts for information. 631-728-3535
