Instrument Service
Many minor instrument repairs including THIS, THAT and THE OTHER THING are performed in-house by professional technician Mark Schumacher. He specializes in guitar intonation, woodwind repairs, piano restoration, and bass guitar maintenance. For comprehensive and specialized instrument and equipment repairs, Hampton Music maintains a network of qualified technicians throughout Long Island and New York City.
Instrument Maintenance
Owning and using a musical instrument is very similar to having a car. You cannot expect it to perform well if it is not properly maintained. Hampton Music provides professional maintenance for casual musicians and professional musicians alike.
All instruments sold by Hampton Music have been inspected for quality and have been properly set-up. Hampton Music guitars and bass guitars come fully inspected and intonated (guitar intonation alone is an $80 value). Instruments that fail to meet Hampton Music quality standards never even make it to the sales floor.
If you purchased your instrument elsewhere, have no fear. Hampton Music provides competitive estimates, excellent customer service, and speedy turn-around times.

Piano Tunings
Pianos are living things. The wood expands and contracts throughout the year in response to heat and humidity. As a result, the metallic strings stretch and lose their tune. Hampton Music provides professional in-home piano tuning services.
Professional piano tuner Mark Schumacher has been perfecting the art and craft of tuning pianos for over 30 years. He uses state of the art equipment and provides the information you need to maximize your investment.
Regardless of how much you play the piano, it should be professionally tuned at least twice a year—in the fall, after the first freeze, and in the spring (though some avid and professional pianists prefer a schedule of six times yearly).

INSTRUMENT LESSONS
Whether you are young or only young at heart, it is never too late (or early) to learning a musical instrument. As a full-service music store, Hampton Music not only provides new and used instruments for sale, it offers practice space rental and music lessons given by professional musicians. Currently, we work with musicians who teach:
For information about pricing, availability, and special requests please call the store or send us an e-mail. We have lessons going in the store 6 days a week from 2pm till 10pm
We will help you relocate, or change your unwanted instruments to cash. Hampton Music and Arts work on 20% of the sale of the instrument. In order to sell your instrument in the store, it must be made to play and be tuned. Any work done on the instrument, with your approval, will be added to the selling price. If the instrument were not sold the owner of the instrument would pay that fee. It could also be sold just as an ornament to display if it is not possible to be made right.
We appraise the value of instruments for insurance or your own curiosity. If you have any question about Consignments Contact Hampton Music & Arts for information. 631-728-3535
